Senior Backend Engineer
Build the core of CruzAI's platform. You'll own business logic, API design, and data layer implementation as we scale from early product to enterprise-grade AI management tooling. This role works directly alongside our founding engineers on the features that define what the product does.
Responsibilities
- Implement backend features across the API and business logic layer (Python/FastAPI)
- Design and manage relational data models and migrations (PostgreSQL, Alembic)
- Integrate LLM workflows, async task systems, and retrieval pipelines (LlamaIndex, RabbitMQ, Redis)
- Contribute to API design decisions and maintain high standards for code quality and documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in enterprise SaaS or AI tooling
- Strong Python skills; production experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks
- Solid command of PostgreSQL and schema migration tooling (Alembic or equivalent)
- Comfortable working autonomously with minimal process overhead; strong written communication
Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Own the infrastructure layer at CruzAI. You'll design and operate our Kubernetes-based environments, shape our CI/CD foundation, and ensure our platform is built to scale from alpha to production. This is a hands-on role with real architectural influence at an early stage.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage Kubernetes infrastructure across local dev and production environments
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Evaluate and implement cloud architecture on AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean with scalability in mind
- Advocate for infrastructure-as-code practices and contribute to platform reliability
Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience
- Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform
- Familiarity with distributed systems patterns: message queues, load balancing, database scaling
- Experience supporting on-call operations and debugging production systems under pressure
Senior Security & Auth Engineer
Lead authentication, authorization, and security architecture at CruzAI. This is the area where our founding team has identified the highest leverage for a new hire. You'll integrate Keycloak, design our AuthN/AuthZ framework, and embed security practices directly into the application layer.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and operate Keycloak for authentication across services
- Design and implement authorization frameworks (RBAC, ABAC, or hybrid policy models)
- Embed security controls into the application and API layer; manage secrets and identity lifecycle
- Advise on compliance posture (SOC2, GDPR basics) and secure architecture decisions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of backend or security engineering experience with a strong AuthN/AuthZ track record
- Hands-on experience with Keycloak or comparable identity providers (Okta, Auth0)
- Working knowledge of OWASP principles, IAM patterns, and securing cloud-native APIs
- Ability to work across application code (Python) and infrastructure; not purely a security specialist
Senior AI/ML Engineer
Build and scale CruzAI's generative AI platform and model orchestration layer. You'll work across LLMs, RAG pipelines, retrieval systems, and enterprise data integrations to deliver production-grade AI capabilities to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement LLM orchestration, RAG pipelines, and fine-tuning workflows
- Build integrations with enterprise data sources and security systems
- Optimize model inference, latency, and cost at scale
- Collaborate with product and customers to shape AI capabilities
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience; 2+ years in applied ML or LLM systems
- Strong Python skills; experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval systems
- Comfortable working in early-stage environments with high autonomy
